Staff Training

The week of staff training has come to a close. It was not the most exciting week but it was good. My job assignments for Mission Adventures are helping in hospitality, running the snack shack, and teaching the kids skits, plus whatever else needs doing.

My highlight for this last week would definitely be the trek. We are planning on doing a trek with the MA kids out in "Niko Land" but the MA staff got to do it first so we would know what was going on and all. Basically you are given a map with five numbered markers on it of stations you need to get to. Each station has a theme. The first is purpose, then passion, purity, and proclamation, the last marker is a camp fire where you eat dinner. On Wednesday the fulltime staff manned the stations and we got to do the trek. It was beautiful out in the no man's land surrounded by mountains and wild flowers. We had a great day for it too, not too warm and slightly overcast.

This week we also worked on our passion play which all the staff is a part of. The passion play is a reenactment of the death of Christ. We also worked on our MA staff drama the purpose of which is to introduce us to the kids. We also picked up trash along the highway because Western Frontiers adopted a stretch of the highway going past the driveway to the base.

Today is a day off but a few people went out to the Pitchfork at 7:30 this morning to mow. Today is also one of the staff girl's birthday. We will be having a special dinner tonight for three people who have had birthdays in the last week or so. Some of us are planning to go into Cody and hang out for the afternoon. I am not sure what we will do there but I imagine we will find something.
