The Patchwork Quilt

If there is one thing i am known for it is my constant changing of my hair. I usually make some drastic change every three months. I have somehow managed to not do anything since last May. Yesterday i decided i was long overdue. Bright and early in the morning i pulled myself out of bed and whipped out the box of champagne blond hair die i had bought the day before. A couple hours later i stared in shock at the mirror. My hair was supposed to be blond but instead it was a slightly lighter shade of brown all except for the roots toward the back of my head, right around the part. There my hair was more of an orange/blond/brown color. I was not happy but i did not panic i just stuck a hat on it and went on with life. This morning after i showered the coloring was better but no one even noticed i had died it, no surprise, if i had not known i would not have known. That is a deep thought I know. Anyhow, today i came up with a horrible, horrible plan. I bought this hair die that can turn even black hair a natural blond. So i began the process a few hours ago. The instructions were different then i was used to but i followed. first you apply the hair die to all hair staying an inch away from the roots. then about 20 minutes later you apply around the roots and let it set for another 20 minutes or so. You are never to leave it in longer then 90 minutes. At any rate, i followed the instruction and what did i get? well we can't go there yet first i have to inform you of a problem. You see some times hot water won't come out of my shower and i have to wait a while, and other times, it never comes. Tonight it never came. That hair die was on longer then 90 minutes, especially the chunks that i could not get under the sink faucet. Eventually i had to give in and stick my head in the freezing shower. When it was all done. I had a beautiful patchwork quilt. some areas the die for the roots had overlapped the other and had lightened it too much other areas had brown spots about an inch from the roots. And that lovely spot near the roots at the back of my head right around the part? well it was the only area of my head that was a nice light blond the rest had a reddish tint, apparently 90 minutes was not long enough in my case but that is okay because..... i bought two things of the hair die. Fixing time, after all it can't get much worse then it was. so after sitting on the toilet a few minutes and crying my eyes out. i began to patch up or rather attempt to unpatch the mess. the end result? well it is still wet but now where it was brown before is lighter, in some areas it is almost white. there are roots in some areas that you can see through all the layers because it is so light and all the long stuff in the back is still much darker then the front and the roots. At least it is all closer to being the same shade. Oh and the hot water, still not there.

I am thinking the blond will get less bright after a couple showers. After all when i died my hair brown it was black for a few days and when i died it red it was kind of purple for a couple days, and yeah. A girl can hope, and where a hat, with a hoodie pulled over top. i could still cry. This is awful. i rally hope it looks better in the morning because certain people here are bound to pick on me and i have wanted my hair long for a long time and now i destroyed it. i guess i should be thankful it did not fall out or anything. I don't feel very thankful. I guess it is a story i will one day laugh at though today is not that day and i doubt tomorrow will be either.

I am going to give you the rare privledge of getting to see my hair at its worst. In the pictures it actually all looks the same shade but that is because it is wet and the flash and everything, there is also a chunk of hair in the front that i purposely left brown. So here it is... Are you ready? Do you think you can handle the horror?
the brown chunk in the front is on purpose and the area behind that is the extremely light section. and here it is close up...

here you can see how it gets darker as it goes down and there is a section of white roots. There is a brown chunk off ot the left side that shows though all teh blond but other then that the worst was fixed. it just is not all the same shade but at least it is all the same color.
