It is the week of prayer, 24/5, and the devil is firing his best shots...
Last week I spent quite a bit of time filling out visa applications for our team and last Friday we sent them in. We have had a problem with getting a passport for one for the students but ended up paying an extra two hundred dollars to speed up the process and basically, hopefully, got it all worked out. We finally could breathe easy. yesterday we started a 24/5 prayer week. Today everything went wrong.
The first issue we discovered was that three of our Canadians never got their passports stamped when they came over to the US and therefore couldn't prove they were even here in order to get a visa. But this ended up not actually beign a problem because we discovered a much bigger one when Daniel talked to the outreach leader from YWAM LA who has led several outreaches to Brazil. He told us that do to the Hakani video that YWAM has had a huge part of, Brazil has black listed YWAM. This is a problem for us because with our visa applications we sent in bills from YWAM Western Frontiers to prove we lived here. Bad, very bad. Thankfully the visa applications had not been sent out yet and are now being returned to us. We should get all our passports back tomorow. This afternoon we filled out new applications but now we are all having to put our home address as our actual home and not the YWAM base which means all our applications will get sent to different consulates across the States and Canada. We are still figuring out what to do about our Belizian student. We leave for Brazil on two weeks and we already bought the tickets.
Please pray that we will get this all sorted out and all of us will be able to get our visas in time. We all strongly believe that each one of us is to go on this outreach to Brazil and this is just an attack of the devil to discourage us during our week of 24/5 prayer. Please pray that we won't be discouraged but will trust God in this situation and grow closer to each other and God through this.
Thank you so very much,
Alissa Davis
